Use custom Outlook form to display previously stored contacts

I followed your instructions for creating a custom Outlook form at http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-easy-steps-to-customizing-an-outlook-2010-form/2635. Now that I have the custom form, I want to open previously stored contacts using this new layout. So far, I’ve been unsuccessful. Is there a way to display existing contacts in a new custom form? – Mark

Mark, I receive this question a lot. Replacing the built-in contact form with a custom form as the default for existing contacts isn’t for the timid or casual Outlook user. Just the same, I’ll provide a few links on the subject that you might find useful:

I wish Microsoft would make this change easier. It just makes sense that users might want to apply the custom form to existing data—if my mail is any gauge at all.
